Translations - Cultural bond between nations
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations
The exhibition features a selection of translations and publishing of Hungarian literary works into Slovenian over 30-year period, from the establishment of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and Hungary in 1992 to the present day. Knowing each other's ideas, creativity and culture is essential for good relations, and translating literature and essays is an important part of this process as well - in particular, when it concerns two nations with a national minority on both sides of a common border.
Due to space limits, not all translated literary works are on display, but only the most notable, prestigious award-winning ones, jubilee collections of festivals and events which, although small in number, reflect an intense translating and organisational activity of the period. The exhibition is organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Slovenia in Budapest and the Liszt Institute Ljubljana.
The exhibition will open on Wednesday, 19 April at 12 noon in the entrance hall to the NUK Main Reading Room.
