Gift policy for NUK Collections

Accepting gifts to be included in the library collections is carried in accordance with Ifla's Guidelines for accepting donations, and the NUK document on purchasing policy. NUK encourages and appreciates any offer to donate material; however, when including donations into its collection, the library acts in accordance with the collection development policy. When accepting gifts, NUK follows the same selection criteria as when purchasing materials; it accepts material of national importance, or if it is important for the development of science, and material that meets the current needs of users. The library accepts only material that it has not in its collections, or copies relevant to the national collection (e.g. signed copies with dedications, copies indicating creative influences).

Potential donors are asked to provide information about the material and information on donor by filling in the form below. Based on the sent data, NUK will check in the library catalogues whether the material is needed or not, and inform the donor about it.
