Project description: The AID HCH project establishes the Slovenian Humanities and Heritage Data Space (SHHDS) as a reference research infrastructure that will connect existing digital collections, research resources, and institutions at the national level.The project aims to develop new methodological approaches and artificial intelligence tools for the analysis of textual, visual, and sensory data, enabling advanced research that contributes to a new understanding of the past, the interpretation of the present, and the prediction of the future of cultural heritage. The project actively integrates Slovenia into the European Research Area in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital humanities and contributes to the development of the European Common Data Space and Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), thereby strengthening Slovenia’s digital sovereignty and innovation potential in science and culture.

Project title: ABC – Ancient Book Crafts

Project description: The ABC project will explore, validate and evaluate the robustness of dating of library materials on the basis of infrared spectroscopy. Dated materials from Klosterneuburg (Austria) and NUK will be used for the research.

Project title: Incunabula Slovenica

Project description: The project aims to digitise more than 800 incunabula (books printed in the early period of printing up to the end of the calendar year 1500) in Slovenia, thus preserving and providing access to written heritage to everyone. The digital collection Incunabula Slovenica will be added to the IFLA Register of Written Heritage, the project will enable cooperation between UNESCO, various heritage institutions and the Memory of the World Committee. The project will also promote the use of new technologies and create new jobs in various areas of the cultural and creative sector. The implementation of the project will be supported by the UNESCO Conference/Meeting on Digitisation, Preservation and Accessibility of Incunabula in Digital Form.
