Professional care for the long-term preservation of library materials through protective, conservation, and restoration procedures, and through the development of modern approaches to safeguarding cultural heritage:
- protection, safeguarding, and long-term preservation of materials;
- monitoring and ensuring appropriate storage conditions in library repositories and other facilities;
- conservation, restoration, bookbinding, and the production of protective enclosures;
- digitisation of fragile materials as part of preservation and long-term storage procedures;
- preparing materials for lending, digitisation, and exhibition activities;
- preparing professional background materials (analyses, recommendations, guidelines, instructions);
- providing expert advice to staff, users, libraries, and other heritage institutions;
- contributing to the preparation of acquisition plans from the perspective of preservation and long-term storage;
- carrying out research, development, educational, exhibition, and promotional activities within the scope of its work.
