First FP7 Work Programme

The first ICT Work Programme under the 7 th Framework Programme (FP7), defining the research priorities for years 2007–2008, is structured in seven challenges. Challenge 4 is called Digital Libraries and Content. The research objectives under this challenge are:

Large-scale European-wide digital libraries of cultural and scientific multi-format and multi-source digital objects , assisting communities of practice in the creative use of content in multilingual and multidisciplinary contexts through the following features:

• robust and scalable environments
• cost-effective digitisation processes
• semantic-based search facilities
• tools for digital preservation

New approaches to digital preservation , where advanced ICTs will have capacities such as:

• acting on high volumes of dynamic and volatile digital content (notably web content)
• safeguarding integrity, authenticity and accessibility over time
• keeping track of contexts (evolving meaning and usage)
• enabling automatic and self-organising preservation

European ICT Prize

Euro-CASE, European Council of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering, is organising with the sponsorship and support of the European Commission the annual European ICT Prize event. The awards in value of 700,000 EUR will be handed over at the CeBIT trade show on 16 March, 2007.

People and organisations from 33 countries can nominate their innovative ICT products and services to the prize until Monday, 4 December, 2006. To apply, visit the official ICT Prize web site.

Informativni dnevi o 7. OP

Informativni dnevi z naslovom FP7 in Motion: Cognitive Systems, Interaction, Robotics, Digital Libraries and Content so posvečeni raziskovalnim izzivom v prvem IKT delovnem programu 7. OP, za katere je odgovoren Direktorat »Vsebine«. Dogodek bo organiziran kot pomoč udeležencem pri razumevanju delovnega programa, pospešil naj bi izmenjavo idej in izkušenj ter pomagal pri iskanju partnerjev za projektne konzorcije.

Enota Direktorata "Učenje in kulturna dediščina" bo pripravila nekaj sej na temo raziskovalnih ciljev na področju Digitalne knjižnice in tehnološko podprto učenje.

Okvirni program in elektronski obrazec za registracijo bosta objavljena v začetku decembra. Dogodek se bo odvijal 24. in 25. januarja v Luksemburgu.
