We seek quality contributions related to all aspects of digitisation of cultural and scientific heritage. Papers that cover the application of information technologies in the field of digitisation are particularly welcome. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the Program Committee.
The papers should cover themes such as:
- coordination and financing of digitisation at local, national, regional and European level;
- legal aspects of digitisation and public access to copyrighted material, “orphan works”;
- digital capture, processing and optical character recognition (OCR);
- automatic identification of and permanent access to original (“digitally born”) e-content;
- digitisation projects in different cultural institutions, case studies;
- digitisation of 3D objects and archaeological sites;
- methodologies of data harvesting for various social networks’ (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr etc.) and other public providers of e-content;
- End-user perspectives, meeting the expectations of the (digital) library users.
Papers’ presentations should not last more than 20 minutes. An extended abstract (approximately 700 words) of the paper should be submitted by 16 March 2012 by email to the address: seedi2012@nuk.uni-lj.si. Authors of selected contributions will be notified by email by 8 April 2012.
