The library code

The library code
The library code is granted to libraries, which have their materials arranged by the principles of librarianship, which enable their users to access catalogues and library materials, and which participate in interlibrary loan.

Registered number
Registered number is a numerical code assigned to institutions, which would like to join the national bibliographic system and the system of interlibrary loan, but do not fulfil the conditions for acquiring the library code.

Form for obtaining the library code or registered number
Fill in the form for obtaining the library code or registered number and send it by mail to the following address:

National and University Library
Library System Development centre
Turjaška 1
Ljubljana
SI – Slovenia

International standard identifier for libraries and related organizations (ISIL)

National and University Library is registered as an authority for assigning a special identifier to libraries and other organizations at Danish Agency for Libraries and Media, which is Registration Authority for ISO 15511 Information and documentation - International Standard Identifier for Libraries and Related Organizations (ISIL). Libraries, which would like to obtain the library code and with it the international standard identifier (ISIL), should fill in the form for obtaining the library code or registered number.

Libraries, which already have the library code or registered number, can form the ISIL themselves by adding the country code, followed by a minus before the library code (i.e. SI-50001 National and University Library).
