Cataloguing Office

Areas of Responsibility

  • To provide Cataloguing-in-Publication records of new and forthcoming books in advance of publication in Slovenia.
  • To assign ISBN codes to publishers based in Slovenia.
  • To assign ISMN codes to music publishers based in Slovenia.
  • To develop and maintain the register of Slovenian publishers, including music publishers.
  • Descriptive cataloguing of completed publications in print and non-print format.
  • Preparation and edition of Personal Name Authority Files for the authors in the Slovenian catalogues.
  • Edition of the Local and Union Catalogues.
  • To maintain the central NUK card catalogue.
  • To develop and maintain the register of Slovenian libraries.
  • To co-operate in the implementation of continuing education organized by NUK.
