The ephemera collection holds the materials of everyday life which can be of great historical significance and reference value, and can provide unique testimony of the social, cultural, economic and political events in a given area and period, and NUK deals with this material in accordance with its function. It consists of a range of material from flyers, pamphlets, information sheets, brochures, invitations, prospects and catalogues to different newsletters, bulletins and programmes of political parties, sport associations etc. Such material is typically published outside of official or normal channels and it cannot be acquired through normal bookselling channels. The items are typically intended to be of only temporary interest (literally "for a day") containing important information on current developments.
