Areas of Responsibility

• Subject cataloguing of monographs and Cataloguing-in-Publication records, which facilitates subject search in the Local and Union Catalogue. Subject and classification headings are assigned to represent the content of the material by using Universal Decimal Classification (UDC).
• Co-operation in the creation, maintenance and development of the Slovenian Union Catalogue.
• Management, design and editing of the Slovenian General Online List of Subject Headings in co-operation with the Library Research Centre.
• Co-ordination of subject cataloguing in the Union Catalogue and development of the Subject Headings Authority Control.
• Implementation of the changes in UDC and creation of national UDC codes. Training and counselling the librarians for subject cataloguing in the Union Catalogue.
• Co-operation in the preparation of background documents for the adoption of general subject cataloguing rules in the Union Catalogue.
• Concern for the quality control of subject headings and for editing bibliographic records in the Local and Union Catalogues.
